I am Charles Barnaby, Owner and President of Barnaby Heating & Air.
I have been in the HVAC industry for more than 25 years and proud owner of Barnaby Heating & Air for 15 years.
I started Barnaby Heating & Air with a few core beliefs in mind.
First is that the customer deserves to trust their HVAC person
Second Do only what needs to be done, no adding extras and upsells that a customer doesn’t need.
Third, Give the customer options and let them decide what is best for them.
Our mission is to make a customer comfortable from the time they call our office until we leave their home. If they aren’t comfortable with us, they should absolutely find an HVAC company that they are comfortable with because the relationship with your service people should be long term – one built on mutual trust, respect and integrity. But then again, that is what all relationships should be based on and no one should accept anything less…especially with the people taking care of the most expensive system in their home!
Yes, there is. We charge an $89.00 Service and Diagnostic fee.
We will tell you that up front. We will always provide you with the cost before we do any work for you. We will not blindside you with extra expenses or charges that you do not approve of ahead of time.
You will find companies that say they do not charge a service call or that they charge a very nominal service call or diagnostic fee. Realistically, that charge is just rolled into the price they are going to charge you for the repair. No one can afford to not charge for service. The truth lies in whether you break it out for full disclosure for your customer or whether you just wedge it in hoping they don’t notice.
Lowering energy bills is a tough one. There are many improvements throughout your home you can make to bring the charges down.
With your HVAC system, you can have yearly maintenance performed in Spring and Fall to make sure your system is running at peak efficiency. That helps.
Changing filters in a timely manner helps too. Don’t make it work harder to move air just because you don’t want to change that filter. It not only costs more in the long run, it shortens the life of your unit too!
Make sure your outside condenser coils are rinsed on a regular basis. Just rinse with a water hose, not a pressure washer! Cottonwood trees, dirt and debris from just mowing can all clog your coils!
Keep vegetation from growing around your outside unit! Free airflow is you’re A/C’s best friend!
You may think bushes are covering up an ugly unit, but in reality, they just make your unit work harder than it should and again can shorten its’ life.
Think of your A/C like anything else, take care of it, do regular maintenance and do what you can to not stress it out unnecessarily. That right there is going to save you money and heartache all the way around!
When your system is on its’ last leg, there comes a time when you decide if it is cost effect to keep repairing it. We can provide you a chart and useful information that will help you decide. There are times when it just makes sense to replace an aging unit and sometimes the ductwork as well. New efficiency standards may save you significant money on your electric bills! Heck, we have had customer that the energy savings from a new unit have paid for the unit in a few short years. A unit paying for itself is a HUGE bonus!
If you have an HVAC system, it needs maintenance. Once in the Spring to check out your A/C, once in the Fall to check out your furnace. It’s that simple!
Well, absolutely! Unless you want you’re A/C to go out at the most inconvenient time possible! You wouldn’t expect your car to last 10 years if you never had maintenance performed on it. Mechanical systems need maintenance and service from time to time. Period.
If the system is less than 10 years old, it is worth weighing the options of repair. We can help you make an educated decision on that. Any A/C company worth anything doesn’t want to sell you something you don’t need.
If your unit is in need of repair and that repair is going to be a significant cost and the unit is more than 10 years old, your HVAC contractor can help you decide if it is time to replace. There is always a point in time that it just doesn’t make sense to repair anymore. Yes, sometimes it can still be repaired, but dumping money into a unit that is going to continue to break down and isn’t efficient anymore is such a waste. When that time comes, making the smart decision starts saving you money the day it is installed.
A new complete system can be installed within a day. Depending on the conditions it could take from 5 to 8 hours per unit.
We absolutely do. Each time a permit is warranted, we will acquire the appropriate permit from the city. We also have the job inspected as well. It is really a safety thing, not only for us but for the customer as well.
We know it is hard to find a contractor you can trust. They ALL say they are trustworthy! But Barnaby Heating & Air just runs differently as a company! From the person answering the phone, to our Techs to me, the owner of the company, we believe that honesty, integrity and trust are the most important words and actions we can use. A lot of companies say the words, we back those words up with actions. We treat our customers like friends because taking care of people is just the right thing to do. You will never find us upselling and adding in repairs that aren’t needed. We aren’t going to sell you a new unit if it isn’t necessary. If you want a company servicing you’re A/C and Furnace that you count on, give us a call and let us earn your business! Also, if you have a minute, look us up on the internet, read our reviews. Our customers love us and you will too!
